Description
A day with Will—William Shakespeare and in flesh and blood!
Annie woke-up brokenhearted and a bit lost. Having her morning rituals on the roll, she found a stranger in her living room that very early Sunday morning. To her surprise and delight, her Will stands before her. She was suddenly out of reasonable words to say other than sputtering a series of cusses she thought she’d never utter.
She can’t think of anything to do with the apparition of the playwright in his thirties. Out of a whirl of thoughts, she decided and invited Will for a tour around the heart of London and to the Globe to see a play—his play. Will tried a lot of new things in the new world he was summoned to and easily fits in the hubub of the city. He likes the ice cream and the twizzle, the Coke and pizza, the lights, the buildings, and apparently, the newness of London where he used to roam around more than a hundred years ago. All this time, Annie was trying her best to explain things to him—sometimes at a loss of words—things like cell phones, electricity, and CEOs. They watched Much Ado About Nothing on TV and danced to the mellow music on Eighties on Eight. She doesn’t want the night to end, though it’s already three in the morning and her eyes are really heavy.
They had the best day, and Annie knows—and fears that intuition—that in a blink all could disappear and she’d be lonely again.
Will Annie find something to hold on to after? Will she still be herself?
